Forged Contract
Question: I was out of town when my wife signed the papers to sell our house in Southwestern Michigan. The agent told my wife to sign my name like my signature even though she knew I was out of town. Is this contract legal and binding even though I did not sign it?
Answer: Unless your wife had the written power of attorney to sell your house, I would say the contract is not valid. There may be other legal implications, but if you do not want to sell, I believe you can quash the deal. If you want assistance, please call.
